Two full weeks at sea! We actually changed sail configuration last night for the first time in days. Then we are doing it again this morning since the wind has lessened, shaking out reefs and putting up the job. Still making good progress towards Hilo.
The current weather models show the windless area ahead to be smaller than we feared, let's hope it holds! We should know more tomorrow. However Tor just said when he came below that there is an epidemic of blue sky out there (yay!), and less wind. Hopefully it hasn't hit us early, but we will see.
Excitement coming later today? We move into another timezone. Hello Alaska, we will be in the same timezone as you!
Tor and Jessica;
ReplyDeleteWe've been following your blog - and Dave is showing us your occasional text message. Sounds like you are very happy to cross the half-way point; an emotion that I have experienced on our research cruises- a lot. It is all downhill from here! Sorry about your no-wind zone, I will go out in the front yard and flap my arms. Chaos theory says that should give you a stiff breeze in mid-Pacific. Stay in touch and best wishes. Paul and Barbara
