Day 10 to Hawaii

Noon position 4/12/16: 20 14.8518 N 125 15.2470 W
Noon to noon distance travelled: 129 nm
Total distance travelled: 1186 nm
Distance to Hilo: 1692 nm

Yesterday continued to be rocky and rolly and it was difficult to do anything but hold on. Morale among the adult members of the crew suffers in conditions like that, but we were able to temper it a bit. This morning we changed headings and are now running downwind. The swell is still with us, and we are rolling around a bit, but the motion is much better.

For the first time since we left Banderas Bay, our weather routing software (predict wind), which forecasts as far as 14 days out showed us getting to Hilo within that window. Conditions will likely change, and it looks like the model may have our boat speed a bit high, so the prediction likely won't come to be, but it still feels like a milestone.
