We passed the half way mark to Hilo yesterday evening at 5:30! It was a turning point in morale for me...I was struggling but am feeling better now. We had a little celebration thanks to our friend Kristine from Asunto. She gave us a wrapped gift to open on one of "those" days. I figured marking the halfway point was as good an occasion as any. We drank some ginger ale for good cheer, and enjoyed our celebration. The kinder surprise eggs in the package were a huge hit for the boys.
Winds are still good, though the swell is still big and uncomfortable. Now we are just trying to get as many miles under our keel while we have the wind. A big patch with little wind appears to be setting up between us and Hawaii starting on Sunday. May delay landfall a bit, but we will see. At least we made 135 miles yesterday, nothing to sneeze at for a 26' waterline!
We are a still doing well, but getting ready to be there, also getting really tired of the clouds. Hopefully we get sunshine soon.
